Smart phone market share is rapidly changing, After Nokia lost its leadership in the Smart phone market, competition between Apple iOS and Android became more intense. Buying used mobile phones in Sri Lanka - A Buyer's Guide

 

As you know Sri Lankan mobile phone market is growing at a rapid pace. One reason for this is the wide availability of mobile phones at low cost compared to many other countries as a result of less duties and restrictions on the import of mobile phones. And the other reason is the cut-throat competition among the network operators allowing low tariffs.
Well, although almost all brands of mobile phones on earth are available in Sri Lanka, most of us would not be having the phone we would have dreamed to have due to the affordability factors. So the alternative for this is to buy a used (or second hand)  mobile phone (aha! just got to the point!). However in most cases no second hand phone seller will offer any sort of warranty; and if you meet the seller online then you will never find the fellow again after the sale. Chinese Mobiles - love or loath?
 

Well if you are a person who is not much in favor of Chinese products we suggest you just check out the origin of some of your home appliances, most probably you will realize that most of them are made in China! So lets talk about Chinese mobile phones with an open mind.

We would like categorize mobile phones of Chinese origin into 03 categories. First category is the mobile phones manufactured in China by leading mobile phone manufacturers such as Nokia & Sony Ericsson. Second category is the Chinese clones (or copies) for the phones of renowned brands. Third category is the mobile phones manufactured and marketed by Chinese companies in their own brand names (the "real" Chinese Phones). The phones that come under the first category are available in almost all the famous brands (this is because almost all the leading manufacturers have their production facilities in China due to factors such as cheaper labor and raw materials etc.) So if your phone is manufactured or assembled in China, you would probably notice "Made in China" printed somewhere on the phone...Continue reading
